This is often the question you or your loved one is faced with. We start by helping you see what options are available to you. You tell us what you or your loved one needs and we’ll help guide every step of the way.

Our Free Services

CrossRoads Domestic Referral Agency is proud to offer a free service. We are knowledgeable in senior care options. We personally sit down with you and discuss your concerns and what options are available to you. If home care is needed for activities of daily living, we’ll find a home care agency in your area. We don’t just give you a list of places to visit on your own like some of the bigger placement agencies will often do. The moment you walk into or call any one place they will begin trying to sell you their service without truly knowing what you want. We have firsthand knowledge of these facilities and whether they are in good standing and in compliant with North Carolina laws. We go directly to these places and with a strict checklist.

How do we get paid? We get paid by the facility you’re placed with, a contract referral fee. We have in-depth knowledge of the places we refer our clients to. We go out and investigate these places using our extensive checklist. We do a thorough walk thru and often times we’ll make appointments around meal times, activity times, and quiet time. We want to see how the facility functions at various times of the day. Once we have a good feeling about the facility based on the visit, state compliance, and other considerations we ask if we can refer clients to that particular facility. Again, we ask to refer clients to the facility in exchange for a fee.

Some of the national agencies contract with numerous facilities throughout the country. Their advisors work from home and never visit any of the places they refer their clients to. Everything is handled over the phone and a list of 50 or more places is given for the family to blindly visit. Some of the places aren’t vetted well at all. You only need to visit 3-5 facilities to make an informed decision. The national placement agencies will only recommend places where they can receive top referral pay, regardless if the place is a good fit for you or your loved one.

How do we differ? The biggest difference is we are working for YOU – not the facility! We help you choose what’s best for you and not our wallets. Again, we are patient advocates. We don’t advocate one facility over another. Again, we receive a referral fee only if we place you with that facility. In fact, if you choose a place that we didn’t refer to you. We’ll still go and investigate with our strict guide lines and report back to you. We won’t try to sway your decision to choose one of our choices. We will simply present our findings.
